Manufacturing Production Technician

Modern House Numbers is seeking an experienced and reliable Manufacturing Production Technician to join our skilled production team. This hands-on role is evenly divided between powder coating and waterjet operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys precision manufacturing, problem-solving, and working with modern fabrication equipment.

Job Title: Manufacturing Production Technician

Hours: Full-time preferred (40 hours/week)
Location: Tucson, Arizona (local applicants only)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Production Technician to join our team. This full-time position is divided between operating our powder coating department and our waterjet cutting system to manufacture premium architectural signage. This manufacturing role regular exposer to industrial equipment, heat, dust and noise.

This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple production processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Every product we make is custom, and every detail matters.

You’ll monitor equipment, perform quality inspections, organize completed work for downstream production, and help maintain efficient workflow across the shop. You’ll also help care for the equipment you operate through routine cleaning and preventative maintenance.

This role plays an essential part in delivering the premium craftsmanship and quality our customers expect from Modern House Numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

Powder Coating
 Prepare aluminum products by sanding, cleaning, drilling, and hanging parts
 Apply powder coat finishes using electrostatic spray equipment
 Operate curing ovens while monitoring temperatures and cure cycles
 Inspect finished products for coverage, texture, color consistency, and overall quality
 Maintain powder coating equipment, spray booth, and work area
 Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment

Waterjet Operations
 Operate waterjet cutting equipment to manufacture sign products
 Load materials and prepare production jobs
 Monitor cutting operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality
 Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
 Troubleshoot minor production issues and communicate equipment concerns
 Organize completed parts for finishing and downstream production

Qualifications:
 Manufacturing, fabrication, or production experience preferred
 Experience operating industrial machinery or CNC equipment is a plus
 Powder coating experience is preferred but not required, we’re willing to train the right candidate
 Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes
 Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
 Comfortable using hand tools and industrial equipment
 Ability to prioritize work and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
 Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move materials
 Positive attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed
