Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Station Supervisor to own the day-to-day operations of multiple construction-focused manufacturing stations. Your primary role is to deliver custom, sustainable housing products on time, to specification, and with consistent quality on every single build.
In this role, you will manage the daily schedule, workflow, and quality within multiple workstations. You will help build and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and identify Kaizen opportunities to streamline our production, while developing a team that takes deep pride in workmanship and accountability. This position works closely with executive leadership on operational priorities and partners with design/sales to ensure customer commitments are flawlessly executed.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Your success in this role will be directly measured by:
Production Output to Plan: Modules completed on time against the daily production schedule.
Quality & Rework: Keeping defect rates and rework hours strictly within target thresholds.
SOP Adherence & Team Development: Documenting procedures, training team members, and ensuring safety standards are met daily.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Materials Execution: Lead your shop floor team to meet daily production schedules. Oversee materials usage while working closely with our inventory team to actively minimize waste, support our eco-friendly mission, and track inventory to ensure production continuity.
Quality & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Ensure every unit leaves the facility meeting Steel + Spark's high quality standards. Build, document, and enforce SOPs across every step of the build process. Catch issues before they become problems, hold the team accountable for details, and address quality failures at the root cause.
Team Leadership & Safety: Directly supervise, train, and mentor production team members. Foster a culture of pride in craftsmanship and accountability. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop floor; enforce safety protocols, address hazards immediately, and ensure strict compliance with OSHA requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to read blueprints, architectural specs, and engineering drawings. Computer competency with MRP/ERP experience, as well as an understanding of lean manufacturing principles is required.
Core Trades: Experience in MPE systems (M1 is currently being used), modular construction, carpentry, metalworking, or wood construction is a plus.
Operational Leadership: Proven track record of developing SOPs, managing quality control, and executing time management strategies on a shop floor.
Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, oral/written communication, and a highly collaborative, professional demeanor.
Education, Training, & Experience
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in production, manufacturing, or shop floor leadership. Hands-on experience in modular construction, custom builds, carpentry, or specialized structural manufacturing is highly preferred.
Leadership History: Demonstrated ability to lead a team and hold direct accountability for manufacturing results.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate’s degree, trade certification, or vocational training in construction management, manufacturing, or a related field is highly preferred.
Certifications: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a strong plus.
