MARINE MANUFACTURER SEEKING MARINE GELCOAT TECHNICIAN

Dusky Marine is seeking an experienced Marine Gelcoat Technician to join our production team. We are looking for someone with hands-on fiberglass and gelcoat experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with a stable schedule.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Perform gelcoat repairs on new and existing fiberglass boats
• Color match and blend gelcoat repairs
• Complete cosmetic repairs ranging from small imperfections to larger patch jobs
• Sand, buff, polish, and finish repaired surfaces to factory-quality standards
• Inspect completed work to ensure high quality and consistency
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous marine gelcoat repair experience required
• Experience with fiberglass repair and patch work
• Ability to accurately color match gelcoat
• Ability to produce high-quality finishes with minimal supervision
• Must provide your own hand tools
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a physically demanding environment throughout the day
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English for safety, training, and communication purposes
• Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Respirator Requirement

This position requires the use of a respirator while performing certain job duties. Applicants must be able to meet OSHA respirator requirements, including successfully completing a required medical evaluation and being able to pass respirator fit testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a boat manufacturing or marine repair environment
• Experience repairing chips, cracks, stress fractures, and cosmetic damage
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
