Master Cabinet Maker

Our custom furniture and antique restoration company, started in 1995, caters to the high-end residential interior design industry. We strive for the highest possible quality in our work while meeting the strict deadlines of the design industry.

We are seeking a master cabinet maker for a full time position, with a minimum of 5 years professional experience. Candidate must be highly skilled in the craft of furniture making, able to produce one-of-a-kind designs, from clean, modern forms to reproductions of antiques. Candidate must be reliable, detail oriented, with strong communication skills. This position requires a high level of mastery of woodworking, efficiently completing projects within a given fabrication estimate.

Qualifications:

• Able to analyze drawings for accuracy, develop cut lists and fabrication strategy, and fabricate precisely from drawings
• Clean, efficient work habits
• Thorough understanding of and proficiency with all aspects of furniture making: hand tools, all machines (including sliding table saw, spindle shaper, router table, mortiser, jointer, and thickness planer), expert veneering
• Understanding and mastery of traditional solid wood joinery, including mortise and tenon joinery, hand cut dovetailing, machine dovetail joinery with dovetail jig, etc., as well as modern methods, such as making of bent laminates in a vacuum press, appropriate use of Domino joinery, etc.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with colleagues
