Position Overview
This role focuses 100% on residential chimneys and fireplaces. You will lead onsite builds, structural relining, and complex restorations. You must be a true team player, open to learning new trade techniques, and fluent in English to coordinate with homeowners and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

• Exclusively Chimney Work: Build, rebuild, and repair residential brick, stone, and mortar chimneys, fireboxes, and hearths.
• Liners: Install clay or stainless steel chimney liners.
• Communication: Explain repair plans clearly to homeowners and coordinate supply orders with vendors.
• Teamwork: Work closely with apprentices and helpers in a positive, ego-free environment.
• Learning & Safety: Adapt to company-specific techniques and ensure all work meets local fire codes, NFPA 211, and OSHA standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 8+ years of professional masonry experience specializing in residential chimney work.
• Language: Fluent English speaker required for client and vendor communication.
• Mindset: Strong team player who is willing to learn, take feedback, and adapt to company standards.
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of drafts, dampers, crown repair, tuckpointing, and roof/scaffolding safety.
• Physical Stamina: Comfortable working at heights on steep roofs, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Requirements: Valid driver’s license. CSIA certification or OSHA 10/30 is a plus.
