Master Drapery Workroom Specialist / Lead Fabricator

We are seeking an experienced Master Drapery Workroom Specialist to help establish and grow our in-house fabrication department. This is an opportunity for a skilled professional to play a foundational role in developing workroom standards, refining production processes, and helping build a team as our business expands.

We are looking for more than a production sewer. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in a professional custom drapery workroom and can confidently manage the complete fabrication process—from reviewing measurements and specifications to producing a finished, installation-ready product.

This role may develop into a workroom leadership position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

● Fabricate custom draperies, sheers, blackout treatments, and lined window coverings

● Produce ripplefold and pinch-pleat draperies

● Fabricate valances, cornices, Roman shades, decorative pillows, and cushions

● Review designer drawings, measurements, work orders, and fabrication specifications

● Calculate yardage, fullness, pattern repeats, and material requirements

● Work with luxury and specialty fabrics, including velvet, linen, and other delicate or challenging materials

● Operate industrial sewing and workroom equipment safely and efficiently

● Work with drapery tracks, hardware, and related components

● Maintain consistent quality, accuracy, and attention to detail throughout production

● Identify and resolve fabrication issues before completed products leave the workroom

● Help establish workroom procedures, fabrication standards, and quality-control processes

● Contribute to equipment planning, workflow development, and workroom organization

● Support future training and development of additional sewing and fabrication staff

● Help scale production for hospitality, restaurant, commercial, and high-end residential projects

Qualifications

● 10 or more years of professional drapery or workroom experience preferred

● Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects from specifications and measurements through completed fabrication

● Advanced knowledge of custom drapery construction and finishing techniques

● Experience with commercial, hospitality, high-end residential, or designer projects

● Strong understanding of yardage calculations, fullness, pattern matching, and fabric repeats

● Proficiency with industrial sewing equipment

● Ability to read and interpret designer drawings, specifications, and work orders

● Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

● Reliable, organized, and able to manage priorities in a production environment

● Experience managing a workroom or training other fabricators is a significant plus

Compensation

Competitive compensation based on experience, technical skill, and leadership potential.

Compensation range: $30/hour-$40/hour based on experience

Schedule and Location

● Full-time

● In-person

● Phoenix / Scottsdale, Arizona

● Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. Overtime if necessary.
