About the Role:
- Under limited supervision performs in maintaining the physical plant and hospital buildings in a safe and effective condition. Handles majority of electrical calls for the Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees and directs Plant and Facilities Maintenance Staff regarding general maintenance and plant operations responsibilities.
- Monitors/maintains all heating and cooling systems, and auxiliary equipment within the physical plant's domain.
- Evaluates plant data and makes proper changes / adjustments for peak efficiency.
- Oversees all repairs to pumps, boilers, chillers, and compressors.
- Makes informed decisions regarding repairs, ordering of supplies, and other patient service-related tasks – i. e. Pevco Tube System, Get Well Network, and Nurse Call
- Makes decisions regarding outside vendors, shutdowns, sprinkler outages, etc.
- Notifies Plant/Facilities Management Leadership of any outstanding or significant issues.
- Ensures both the Plant and Facilities personnel’s commitment to excellence in customer service and operational performance.
- Creates a focus of culture, safety, and support to all employees, customers, and patients. • Oversees all engineering and maintenance staff.
- Oversees and ensures all equipment within the Plant and Hospital PM system is in within 100% compliance with all related Joint Commission and safety standards as well as local state and federal guidelines for safe pressure.
- Provides guidance to maintenance and plant staff on the completion of established preventive maintenance measures.
- Frequent contacts within or outside the Hospital – requires tact, discretion, fiduciary responsibility and working knowledge of all procedures and policies.
