Mechanic Apprentice

Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform regular and non-routine maintenance on diesel engine powered semi trucks, heavy construction equipment, excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, pickup truck vehicles, and other heavy equipment. Under the direction of the Construction Division Manager and Lead Mechanic, conduct maintenance and repairs to the trucks and equipment, ensuring that the operation/maintenance is safe, efficient, reliable, and meets the performance needs of heavy construction operation.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must own essential tools to perform the required mechanical work.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S permanent resident status required.
  • Must have a Class A or Class B CDL.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Responsible for performing preventative, protective, and repair maintenance programs.
  • Comply with all required environmental health and safety programs.
  • Keeping work spaces safe, clean, and organized.
  • Provide support for mechanical emergencies and special support work, such as travel/repair of trucks/equipment on the road, or on projects that need immediate attention, or any special event(s).
  • Ability to lift and / or move more than 50 pounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
