Mechanic/Technician

Description

We’re hiring a full-time mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in engine replacement, engine rebuilding, vehicle diagnostics, and general mechanical repair. This position is suited for a dependable technician who can accurately diagnose problems, complete repairs efficiently, and maintain high-quality workmanship.

Full-Time Automotive Mechanic

Position: Automotive Mechanic / Diagnostic Technician
Location: Ponder, TX
Pay: based on experience

Job Responsibilities
-Remove and replace engines and related components

-Rebuild engines and complete internal engine repairs

-Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and computer-related vehicle problems

-Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and service information

-Perform testing before and after repairs

-Inspect vehicles and identify needed repairs

-Troubleshoot starting, charging, fuel, ignition, cooling, and emissions systems

-Repair or replace transmissions, drivetrain components, suspension, steering, and brakes as needed

-Perform preventive maintenance and general mechanical repairs

-Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

-Follow proper safety procedures and manufacturer repair specifications

-Communicate repair needs and job status clearly with management

Qualifications

Previous professional mechanic or automotive technician experience
Demonstrated experience with engine swaps and engine rebuilding
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to use professional scan tools and mechanical testing equipment
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel vehicle systems is preferred
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical service information
Own basic hand tools
Valid driver’s license
Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ASE certification is preferred but not required
Commercial-vehicle or fleet-repair experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move automotive parts and equipment
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined areas for extended periods
Ability to safely operate lifts, jacks, engine hoists, and shop equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced repair environment
