Auto Mechanic / General Service Technician

North Laurel Transmission

Full-Time | Hourly Position

Position Summary

North Laurel Transmission is seeking a dependable, experienced Auto Mechanic / General Service Technician to join our team full-time. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of automotive maintenance and repair services, including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, and major drivetrain repairs such as transmission and engine removal and replacement.

The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance services, including:

Oil and filter changes

Fluid inspections and replacements

Tire rotations and inspections

Battery testing and replacement

Diagnose and repair brake systems, including pads, rotors, calipers, and hydraulic components.

Remove and replace transmissions, transfer cases, engines, and related drivetrain components.

Perform mechanical repairs on domestic and foreign.

Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Assist with other shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous automotive repair experience preferred but not required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in a shop environment.

ASE certifications are a plus but not required.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
