Miscellaneous Metals Estimator – Stairs & Railings

Full-Time | Experienced Estimator

We are an established miscellaneous metals fabrication company with over 40 years of experience specializing in metal stairs, railings, small structural steel, and related miscellaneous metals work. Our project typically includes new schools, universities, police/fire stations, housing authorities, apartments, etc.

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of estimating experience, preferably in miscellaneous metals, architectural metals, structural steel, or a related fabrication/construction field.

Responsibilities

Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for metal stairs, railings, small structural steel, and miscellaneous metals.
Perform quantity takeoffs and material/labor cost calculations.
Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and material pricing as needed.
Prepare sub-bids and proposals in accordance with project requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and vendors.
Identify potential scope issues, exclusions, and changes in project requirements.
Meet bid deadlines and maintain organized estimating records.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of estimating experience preferred.
Experience with miscellaneous metals, stairs, railings, structural steel, or metal fabrication strongly preferred.
Experience estimating public-sector projects and filed sub-bids is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
Strong mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple bids, and meet deadlines.
