Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication – Layout/Fitter & Welder

Raysteel, Inc. is a busy miscellaneous and structural steel fabrication shop looking for reliable and experienced Layout/Fitters and Welders to join our growing team. Our projects include stairs, railings, platforms, structural beams, embeds, miscellaneous steel, and more.

STEEL LAYOUT/FITTER DUTIES: Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication details; accurately lay out, fit, and assemble structural and miscellaneous steel components; fabricate stairs, railings, platforms, and other miscellaneous steel items; use tape measures, squares, levels, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools; tack weld and properly position parts for final welding; verify dimensions and fit-up for accuracy; work closely with welders and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines; and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

WELDER DUTIES: Perform welding on structural and miscellaneous steel components according to shop drawings and specifications; weld stairs, railings, platforms, beams, embeds, and other fabricated steel items; properly set up and operate welding equipment and fabrication tools; inspect welds and completed work for quality and accuracy; assist with fitting, grinding, cutting, and material preparation as needed; follow all shop safety procedures and use required PPE; and maintain a clean and organized work area.

REQUIREMENTS: Experience with structural and/or miscellaneous steel fabrication preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to read shop drawings and understand basic fabrication dimensions. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform physical shop work. Must follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.

Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
