Description

MOBILE TECHS WANTED — 1836 HD

SCOTTSDALE / GREATER PHOENIX — MOBILE FIELD SERVICE
Service area: up to 100 miles around Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Arizona assignments are mobile service at customer locations throughout the region.

BRING YOUR SKILLS. HAVE A TEAM BEHIND YOU.

Enjoy solving tough problems, working on different equipment and seeing a repair through? Bring that drive to 1836 HD. We are looking for experienced mobile RV, diesel and heavy-duty technicians who take pride in their craft and want to work with a company that values their skills.
RV specialists, HD/diesel specialists and technicians experienced in both are welcome. Work assignments will match your skills.

WHY CHOOSE 1836 HD?

  • Put your skills to work on more than the same repair every day: motorhomes, heavy-duty trucks, equipment, generators and more.
  • Have a service advisor coordinating customer communication and repair needs, with clear communication between you and the team.
  • Company-paid fuel cards for authorized service work help support your time in the field.
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities, with assignments and schedules agreed in advance.
  • Bring your strongest specialty, and let us know what other work you do well. Technicians who handle both RV and HD/diesel work are especially welcome.
  • Compensation based on your experience, certifications and demonstrated skills.
RUN YOUR OWN MOBILE OPERATION? LET'S TALK.
Working solo or running a small mobile mechanic operation? You do not have to be looking for a full-time change to reach out. We welcome independent mechanics interested in adding part-time work alongside their existing customers. Tell us your service area, equipment, specialties and available days so we can discuss a fit.
Qualified welding subcontractors are also considered for welding assignments based on skills, certifications and project needs. For welding-only opportunities, tell us your welding processes, certifications, mobile setup and availability. Diesel certification applies to HD/diesel technician assignments.

YOUR VEHICLE

A reliable pickup truck, service truck or commercial van is required. Applicants with their own work-ready truck or van are preferred. Bring your customary hand and personal tools.

WHAT WE WORK ON

Heavy-duty trucks and equipment, diesel vehicles, motorhomes, RVs, travel trailers, generators, trailers and fleet equipment. Service needs include mechanical repairs, diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, A/C and RV systems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Travel to assigned customer locations and diagnose repair concerns.
  • Complete quality repairs within your training and experience.
  • Identify required parts and document findings, labor and completed work.
  • Keep the service advisor and customer informed throughout the job.
  • Work safely, professionally and independently in the field.
RV specialties may include 12V/120V electrical, appliances, A/C, plumbing, slide-outs, leveling and generator systems. HD/diesel specialties may include engine diagnostics and repairs, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, vehicle A/C and welding.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • HD / diesel / equipment: diesel certification and welding skills are required. Welding certifications are preferred. A/C certification is a plus.
  • RV: certified RV technicians are strongly preferred. Technicians who can diagnose and repair both RV house systems and chassis systems are ideal.
  • Five or more years of mechanical experience in the position or a similar role is preferred.
  • Technicians qualified in both RV and HD/diesel repair are especially welcome.
  • Tell us your certifications, repair strengths and experience with diagnostic tools.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to regional service calls are required.
INITIAL WORK ARRANGEMENT
All positions begin as 1099 independent-contractor engagements for a minimum of the first 90 days. After that period, you may qualify for benefits, subject to eligibility and company terms. Benefits are not guaranteed. Schedule, compensation, vehicle arrangements and fuel-card terms will be discussed before work begins.
