Description

Independent Contractor – Mobile Tire Service Operator

South Lake Tahoe / Stateline Based

Service Area: South Lake Tahoe • North Lake Tahoe • Carson City • Reno

Swift Mobile Tires is seeking ONE individual independent contractor (one person) located in or very near South Lake Tahoe, California / Stateline, Nevada to operate a company-provided mobile tire service truck.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not a traditional hourly employee position.

IMPORTANT — LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY

The contractor must live in or very near the South Lake Tahoe / Stateline area.

The company-owned service truck needs to remain based in the South Lake Tahoe area because:

  • South Lake Tahoe represents a significant portion of our existing customer demand.
  • Keeping the truck locally positioned allows for efficient response to customer requests.
  • Swift Mobile Tires needs reasonable access to its company-owned vehicle for maintenance, repairs, inspections, equipment changes, and general fleet management.
We manage the vehicle and company equipment — not the contractor's day-to-day schedule.

Applicants living primarily in Reno or other locations substantially outside the South Lake Tahoe/Stateline area will generally not be a good fit for this particular truck.

Service Territory

The contractor will operate throughout our general service territory, including:

  • South Lake Tahoe, CA
  • Stateline, NV
  • North Lake Tahoe
  • Carson City, NV
  • Reno, NV
  • Surrounding communities when appropriate
South Lake Tahoe will serve as the primary home territory for the truck, while the contractor will have the opportunity to develop business throughout the larger Tahoe–Northern Nevada market.

Income Potential

This is a performance-based opportunity with significant upside for the right individual.

We estimate approximately $2,000 per month as a realistic floor with relatively minimal activity.

A motivated contractor who keeps the truck productive, develops repeat customers, builds commercial and fleet accounts, and actively pursues new business may have the potential to earn approximately $10,000–$15,000+ per month.

There is no guaranteed income or guaranteed number of jobs. These figures are estimates, not promises. Actual earnings depend on work completed, customer demand, business generated, and the contractor's own effort and effectiveness.

We Provide the Mobile Tire Truck

Swift Mobile Tires provides the contractor with a mobile tire service truck equipped to perform tire work in the field.

This gives the right individual the opportunity to operate and grow a mobile tire service route without having to purchase and equip their own mobile tire truck.

The contractor will be entrusted with the day-to-day care of the truck and its equipment in accordance with the independent contractor agreement.

This Is a Physical, Hands-On Opportunity

Mobile tire service involves substantial physical labor and heavy lifting.

You should expect to regularly:

  • Lift and move tires and wheel assemblies
  • Remove and install wheels
  • Mount and dismount tires
  • Balance tire and wheel assemblies
  • Load and unload tires
  • Operate jacks, impact tools, tire equipment, and automotive tools
  • Work outdoors in varying Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada weather conditions
  • Work in driveways, parking lots, commercial properties, and other mobile-service environments
You must be physically capable of safely performing heavy, repetitive automotive work.

Mechanical Experience Strongly Preferred

Previous automotive or mechanical experience is strongly preferred.

Relevant backgrounds include:

  • Tire technician
  • Automotive technician or mechanic
  • Mobile mechanic
  • Fleet mechanic
  • Roadside-service technician
  • Lube technician
  • Truck or equipment mechanic
  • Other mechanically experienced individuals comfortable working on vehicles
Tire Machine & Wheel Balancer Experience Is a Major Plus

Applicants who already know how to safely and properly operate a tire mounting machine and wheel balancer are strongly preferred.

Experience with the following is particularly valuable:

  • Tire mounting and dismounting
  • Wheel balancing
  • Tire repairs and patching
  • TPMS service
  • Valve-stem replacement
  • Vehicle lifting and jacking
  • Proper wheel-torque procedures
  • Passenger and light-truck tires
We will consider mechanically capable applicants without extensive professional tire-shop experience, but you must be comfortable working on vehicles, using tools, learning equipment, and performing physical work
