MTU Installation Technician

Saks Metering is hiring field technicians for an ongoing MTU replacement project in New York City, primarily in the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island.

Technicians will perform MTU (Meter Transmitter Unit/radio transmitter) replacements at residential and commercial properties.

About the MTU Replacement:

The MTU is a small radio transmitter, approximately 5” x 10”. A typical replacement involves crimping three wires and securing two screws and generally takes only a few minutes to complete. Technicians will travel from one assigned address to the next throughout the workday completing these replacements.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Replace existing MTUs (radio transmitters)
• Travel between assigned customer locations throughout the workday and complete MTU replacements
• Accurately document completed work using a tablet
• Communicate professionally with customers when needed
• Follow all project and safety procedures
• Valid driver’s license or other reliable transportation to and from work required
• Comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision

Experience with utilities, radio installation, cable installation, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, or similar field work is preferred. Training will be provided for qualified candidates.

We are looking for reliable, mechanically inclined individuals who are comfortable working outdoors and interacting with customers.

Location: Bronx, Queens & Staten Island, NY

Schedule: Full-time
Pay: Prevailing wage – $54.29/hour
