Surface preparation: Inspect parts, fill defects, sand through the appropriate grits, break edges where required, clean surfaces, and prepare components for coating.
Finish preparation: Mix and strain stains, paints, sealers, primers, and clear coats; match approved samples; record formulas when appropriate.
Finish application: Spray or otherwise apply stains, primers, paints, sealers, and topcoats consistently while controlling film build, coverage, color, sheen, and defects.
Quality control: Identify runs, sags, contamination, sanding scratches, color inconsistencies, insufficient coverage, and other defects before work leaves the finishing area.
Finish-room operations: Maintain spray equipment, clean guns and lines, manage materials, keep the finishing area organized, and follow the applicable PPE, ventilation, chemical-handling, and fire-safety requirements.
