Adventures In Production (AIP) – Marin County, CA

Adventures In Production (AIP) is a family-owned and operated general contracting firm with over 35 years of experience serving Marin County. We specialize in high-end residential remodels—including kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations—for discerning clients who expect precision craftsmanship, clear communication, and lasting value. aipgc.com

At AIP, we believe in doing things right: quality over shortcuts, integrity over one-time jobs, and building relationships over transactions. Our team treats every home as if it were our own.

We're growing our production team and hiring for two roles at different experience levels — from a Skilled Laborer/Apprentice building foundational trade skills, to a Lead Carpenter driving complex projects from start to finish. Whether you're early in your carpentry career or a seasoned craftsman ready to lead, we'd like to hear from you.

LEAD CARPENTER
$36–$38/hr DOE

Ideal for a seasoned craftsman who brings deep carpentry expertise, pride in high-quality workmanship, and the ability to lead others on complex residential remodel projects. You'll be a key driver of project execution, collaborating closely with project managers and craftsmen to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities:

Perform advanced carpentry work including framing, structural modifications, window/door installation, cabinetry, trim, finish carpentry, and custom details
Interpret drawings, specifications, and project plans with accuracy
Lead day-to-day onsite operations; direct and support carpenters, apprentices, and subcontractors; provide training and mentorship
Maintain a clean, organized, professional job site; coordinate materials, tools, and setup
Conduct quality checks on crew work
Communicate professionally with homeowners; clearly relay priorities and timelines to the crew

Requirements:

5+ years of residential carpentry experience, strong in both rough and finish work
Proven ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, and hold high standards under tight timelines
Strong understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and jobsite safety
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents
Clean driving record and valid driver's license
Reliable commute to job sites throughout Marin County
Physical ability to perform labor-intensive work, including ladders/scaffolding

SKILLED LABORER / APPRENTICE CARPENTER

Starting at $28, up to $32/hr DOE

Ideal for a self-motivated Construction Laborer looking to work in a professional team atmosphere and grow within the company. Prior construction labor experience required; no carpentry mastery expected yet — just a strong work ethic and a real desire to learn the trade.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard breaks and lunch.

Duties:

Demolition, debris removal, trash hauling, site clean-up, and assisting the Site Manager as directed
Perform quality work to the highest level possible
Follow directions, work well on a team or independently
Be on time, professional, courteous, and respectful with clients and subcontractors
Understand and follow all safety guidelines

Requirements:

Prior construction labor experience required

Good written and communication skills
Valid, clean California driver's license (Class C); may be required to drive a Class 5 truck
Neat, organized, and able to follow the Site Manager's directions
Willing to lift 50–75+ pounds
Able to stand, move between floors, and climb ladders for a physical 8-hour day
Positive attitude and strong work ethic; willingness to learn the trade
Bilingual preferred

Benefits: 3 sick days/year; medical through Kaiser (50% coverage) after 90-day probation; one week paid vacation after 1 year. Specialized training available to help laborers advance — experience is a big plus, but attitude and willingness to learn matter most.

What We Offer (Both Roles)

Full-time employment with a consistent schedule and long-term stability
Work on high-end residential projects with a respected local builder
A supportive, values-driven culture where craftsmanship is celebrated
Growth opportunities within a company that promotes from within
The chance to help build exceptional homes across Marin County
