NOW HIRING: PLUMBER – SERVICE & INSTALLATION

Location: Charleston, SC & surrounding areas

Pay: $30$45 per hour, based on experience
Position: Full-time

Hard Start Mechanical is seeking an experienced plumber to work alongside our plumbing foreman on commercial projects and independently handle service calls and installations when assigned. Work is primarily commercial, with some minor residential service and installation work.

This is a hands-on, skilled plumber position. You must be comfortable completing work independently and taking direction from the foreman on larger projects.

Responsibilities:

Work alongside the plumbing foreman on commercial installations, renovations, and repairs.
Independently diagnose plumbing problems and complete service calls.
Install and repair water distribution, sanitary waste, and vent piping.
Perform rough-ins, fixture installations, trim-outs, and water heater replacements.
Work with PVC, CPVC, PEX, copper, cast iron, and threaded piping as applicable.
Read plumbing drawings and follow layouts, specifications, and installation instructions.
Identify materials and tools needed to complete assigned work.
Test completed installations for leaks and proper operation.
Perform welding work when assigned, if qualified.
Communicate job progress, unexpected conditions, and additional work needs before proceeding.
Document work performed, materials used, and job photos.
Maintain professional communication with customers and keep work areas clean and safe.

Qualifications:

Experience in commercial plumbing installation and service.
Ability to complete service calls and smaller installations with minimal supervision.
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of proper plumbing installation practices.
Ability to follow the foreman’s direction and work effectively with the crew.
Experience with minor residential plumbing repairs and installations.
Welding experience is a plus. Employees qualified and assigned to perform welding will receive a higher hourly rate for welding hours, with the rate agreed upon before the work begins.
Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
Valid driver’s license.
