Now Hiring Remodelers and Lead Carpenters

Some of the best carpenters we’ve ever had worked with us until they retired. Now it’s time to find the next ones.

Imagine having two, four, even six months of actual projects already sitting in your pipeline waiting for you. Not leads or estimates you still have to sell. Real projects with real homeowners waiting for you to finish the one you’re on so you can come take care of theirs.

Our number-one carpenter is living that right now. He’s booked through January 2027, and much of his work today comes from homeowners he has already worked for, repeat clients who want him back, and referrals from people who loved the experience they had with him.

At one point, five of our carpenters had each been with us for more than eight years, and our longest-tenured carpenter has now been with us for 13 years. We tend to find great craftsmen later in their careers, and when we find the right ones, they stay. Over the last few years, several of those guys simply retired out.

Instead of filling those holes with subcontractors, America’s Construction Experts is bringing more of our installation team in-house and looking for the next group.

Maybe you’ve spent years running your own remodeling business and still love the work, but you’re tired of installing all day and then spending your nights estimating, chasing leads, scheduling jobs and collecting checks. Maybe you’d rather show up every morning, treat the homeowner and their project like your own, do incredible work and go home knowing there are months of projects already waiting for you.

Or maybe you work for somebody else, you’re damn good at what you do, and you’ve simply reached the ceiling where you are.

HERE’S WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for experienced remodelers and lead-level carpenters earning $35–$55 per hour depending on experience, craftsmanship, specialty and leadership ability.

Our biggest need is experienced kitchen and bathroom remodeling, but we’re also looking for people whose strongest skills may be finish carpentry, flooring, roofing or siding. You do not need to specialize in every one of these areas. We’re looking for experienced people who are exceptional at what they do and capable of taking ownership of their work from beginning to end.

For kitchen and bathroom remodeling, we’re especially interested in craftsmen who can handle high-end projects and understand the entire remodeling process. If you know systems and products like Wedi and Schluter, understand waterproofing, tile, cabinetry, trim and the details required to complete a beautiful finished project, we want to hear from you.

We’re looking for lead-level people first. Our goal is to find experienced craftsmen we can eventually build another person or an entire crew around.

We develop, remodel and invest in the communities where we live, and we want our people to be part of those communities too. We’re looking for one great person in Lake County, one in Porter County and one in LaPorte County, or someone centrally located who can comfortably serve all three.

You must currently live in Northwest Indiana or the immediate surrounding area and have an established local presence. A 219 or other recognizable regional phone number is preferred. If your phone number is from somewhere else, that’s perfectly fine — just tell us where you currently live when you respond.

Being great at your craft is about 50% of what we’re looking for. The other 50% is the person walking through that homeowner’s front door.

We want people who show up, communicate, protect the home, follow the system, stand behind their last name and treat people right. We also want people who eventually want to lead and teach. If you’ve spent 10, 20 or 30 years mastering your craft, there’s tremendous value in bringing somebody alongside you and passing that knowledge on.

If your idea of leadership is tearing other people down to make yourself feel more important, you’re not a fit for us. This business is difficult enough already. We want positive-minded people who enjoy helping others, sharing what they know and watching the people around them succeed.

Right now, we have enough work in front of us to keep two great carpenters busy for approximately the next four to six months.
