PAY
Tree Climber / Foreman: $28–$40 per hour
Experienced Tree Groundsman: $18–$25 per hour
Starting pay is based on verifiable experience, demonstrated skill, equipment-operation ability, leadership ability, driver’s license/CDL status, and overall qualifications.
Augusta Landworks Bush Hog & Tree Removal is seeking experienced, dependable tree professionals to join our growing team.
We perform tree removal, stump grinding, land clearing, bush hogging, forestry mulching, grading, excavation, and related outdoor services throughout the Augusta/CSRA area.
These are experienced positions. We are looking for people who can show up ready to work, operate safely, take responsibility, and help complete jobs efficiently from start to finish.
TREE CLIMBER / FOREMAN
$28–$40 PER HOUR
We are seeking an experienced production climber who can safely perform tree removals and, at the Foreman level, independently manage day-to-day tree crew operations.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Safely climb trees for removals, trimming, and pruning.
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, ropes, rigging systems, and other tree-removal equipment.
- Safely rig and lower large limbs and sections of trees.
- Perform technical tree removals around homes, buildings, fences, driveways, vehicles, utilities, and other structures.
- Evaluate trees and surrounding areas for hazards before work begins.
- Establish safe work zones and removal plans.
- Coordinate cutting and rigging operations with ground crew.
- Lead and direct crew members when working as Foreman.
- Operate aerial lifts when required and qualified.
- Perform daily inspections of climbing gear, ropes, rigging equipment, chainsaws, trucks, trailers, and tools.
- Maintain climbing and rigging equipment.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed before, during, and after each job.
- Assist with equipment operation, loading, hauling, and other job-site duties as needed.
- Maintain professional and organized job sites.
- Ensure customer property is protected throughout the project.
- Ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
- Ensure the property is thoroughly cleaned upon completion.
- Communicate professionally with management, customers, and crew members.
- 3–5+ years of verifiable professional tree-climbing/tree-removal experience preferred.
- Strong rope-and-saddle climbing ability.
- Strong chainsaw skills.
- Experience with professional tree rigging and controlled lowering.
- Ability to perform difficult and technical tree removals safely.
- Strong understanding of tree-removal safety procedures.
- Ability to identify hazards and develop a safe removal plan.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Must be comfortable working at heights.
- Must be able to work outdoors in Georgia heat and varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- CDL Class A or B is a major plus.
- Heavy-equipment and trailer experience is a major plus.
- Must have dependable transportation.
- Must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug screening.
- ISA certification is a plus but is not required for an otherwise highly experienced candidate.
Candidates seeking the upper end of the pay range should be capable of independently running a tree-removal job from start to finish, including evaluating the job, establishing the removal plan, climbing, rigging, directing the ground crew, operating equipment, protecting customer property, maintaining safety standards, and completing final cleanup.
EXPERIENCED TREE GROUNDSMAN
$18–$25 PER HOUR
Our Groundsman works directly with climbers and equipment operators to safely and efficiently complete tree-removal and land-clearing projects.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Manage ropes and rigging from the ground.
- Assist climbers during tree-removal operations.
- Drag, move, cut, and process limbs and logs.
- Safely operate chainsaws and power equipment when qualified.
- Assist with stump-grinding operations.
- Load and unload logs, brush, equipment, and debris.
- Assist with skid steers, mini skid steers, excavators, stump grinders, dump trailers, and other equipment when qualified.
