Purpose:
Serve as Nucor Rebar Fabrication's on-site project representative for the Micron Boise project, overseeing daily project execution, coordination, scheduling, customer communication, and field operations through final completion. Cultivate a positive customer service environment while maximizing project performance, safety, and profitability for Nucor Rebar Fabrication.
Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements to coordinate detailing, fabrication, delivery, and placing activities throughout the life of the project.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact between Nucor Rebar Fabrication, the customer, general contractor, subcontractors, engineers, architects, detailers, placers, and production facilities.
- Provide total project management of the assigned project, including coordination of detailing, scheduling, fabrication, delivery, field placement, and costs utilizing the company business system, industry standards, and other company resources.
- Maintain a consistent presence at the project site to proactively identify issues, support project execution, and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Oversee efforts to ensure Nucor Rebar Fabrication fulfills all contractual obligations on the assigned project.
- Coordinate project requirements with customer representatives, construction management teams, rebar installers, engineers, architects, and project stakeholders using Nucor Rebar Fabrication's contract management guidelines.
- Schedule and coordinate detailing, fabrication, delivery, and placing activities with contractors, detailers, placers, and Nucor Rebar Fabrication production staff to support evolving construction schedules.
- Attend and actively participate in project coordination meetings, scheduling meetings, planning sessions, progress reviews, and safety meetings.
- Monitor field progress and communicate upcoming material, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and labor requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review project changes to determine scope impacts, ensure accuracy, and process appropriate documentation in accordance with company change order procedures.
- Assist in the change order process culminating in customer acceptance and execution of approved changes.
- Assist in identifying and resolving field issues, constructability concerns, material shortages, sequencing challenges, and schedule impacts.
- Interpret and explain plans, specifications, and contract terms to appropriate staff, field personnel, and customers.
- Represent the company in project meetings and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Work with the Detailing Manager, Branch Manager, and Operations teams to manage project costs, production priorities, schedules, and customer expectations while protecting company interests.
- Formulate reports concerning project progress, forecasts, costs, schedule status, manpower requirements, and production performance.
- Support jobsite safety initiatives and reinforce compliance with all company and project-specific safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Branch Manager.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated construction project management experience or at least ten years of reinforcing steel sales, detailing, fabrication, placing, or related construction industry experience.
- Ability and willingness to work full-time on-site at the Micron Boise project for the duration of the assignment.
- Ability to apply ACI Codes and CRSI Standards.
- Experience supporting large-scale industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, energy, or other mega construction projects.
- Experience working directly on active construction sites and coordinating complex project activities.
- Experience in customer relations and resolving construction-related problems or disputes.
