Description
Opening for a CNC Machinist. Primary responsibility will be operating a 2025 Doosan 5700 3-Axis Milling Machine.
Primary work includes machining prototype parts and assemblies. Maintain and operate CNC machines under tight tolerances while working with a variety of metals and materials. Must have knowledge of heat treating, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Our shop is located near Nellis Air Force Base in North Las Vegas, NV. This is a full-time position with competitive wages.
Job Responsibilities:
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Works independently to eliminate design obstacles and move forward with projects in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Previous experience working and Journeyman skills on vertical mill, manual lathe, and/or 3 axis vertical CNC mill
- Skilled in uploading program (Master CAM PREFERRED), including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
- Should possess basic tools such as digital micrometer, depth micrometer, and feeler gauge (cutting tools provided in shop)
- Previous experience (or interest in) building hydraulic cylinders, firearm fabrication, and/or TIG welding PREFERRED
