Painter (Marine)

CSR Marine is a full-service boatyard serving the Puget Sound region since 1977. With two locations in Ballard and Des Moines, we provide exceptional service in fiberglass, paint, rigging, mechanical, electrical and restoration.

We are looking for an experienced Painter to start immediately at our Des Moines, WA location. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated, and can work with minimal supervision. We offer medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and a simple IRA matching program. Wages are very competitive and are DOE.

Responsibilities

Prepare boats for bottom paint work, including sanding, masking, taping, bagging, and unbagging/tear down.
Painting using rollers, HVLP, and airless spray systems.
Prepare surfaces for coating according to paint manufacturers' specifications.
Paint surfaces using approved methods.
Ensure proper storage of all equipment
Dispose of empty paint and solvent cans according to safety standards
Properly store and take appropriate precautions for paint and solvents as directed by supervisor
Perform other duties as related

Minimum Qualifications

Good interpersonal communication skills
Professional attitude and appearance
Dependable with a strong work ethic
Must be able to wear a full body garment
Must be able to be fitted for and wear a respirator
Exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting
Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds
Ability to climb stairs and ladders

Desired Qualifications: Previous Industrial painting experience using rolled or airless systems preferred

Compensation: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience
