Painter – Scenic / Fabrication Shop

11th St Workshop is looking for an experienced painter to join our fabrication team in Jersey City, NJ.

We are a custom fabrication shop producing high-end work for events, retail installations, brand activations, exhibits, and other specialty projects. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment and takes pride in producing clean, professional finishes.

Responsibilities include:

-Painting and finishing wood, MDF, metal, and other fabricated materials
-Rolling, brushing, and spray painting
-Priming, sanding, filling, and surface preparation
-Mixing and matching paint colors
-Applying high-quality finish coats
-Touch-ups and repairs
-Keeping the paint area clean and organized
-Working with our fabrication and project teams to meet deadlines

Ideal candidate:

-Previous professional painting or scenic painting experience
-Experience with spray equipment is strongly preferred
-Familiar with different primers, paints, and coatings
-Strong attention to detail
-Able to work independently and as part of a team
-Comfortable working in a busy fabrication/shop environment
-Reliable and able to meet project deadlines

This is a hands-on position with opportunities to work on a wide variety of custom projects.

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Schedule: Full-time or Part-time
Pay: Competitive and based on experience
