PAINTERS WANTED — APPRENTICE & PAINTER 1 (Bay Area / San Jose)

C&A Painting LLC is a professional commercial painting and construction contractor serving the Bay Area. We're growing and currently hiring Apprentice Painters and Painter 1s. If you take pride in your work and want steady hours with a professional crew, we want to hear from you.

--- OPEN POSITIONS ---

APPRENTICE PAINTER | $22 – $25/hr

• No experience required — we will train you
• A structured path to becoming a full painter in about a year, with a pay increase and a hands-on skills assessment at every step (see "Your Path to Painter 1" below)
• Assist with surface prep, masking, cleanup, and basic paint application
• Work alongside experienced painters on commercial and multifamily projects
• Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn

PAINTER 1 | $24 – $27/hr

• 1–2 years of hands-on painting experience (or promoted internally through our Apprentice program)
• Can independently perform prep, priming, and basic application
• Comfortable with brushes, rollers, and basic sprayer use
• Experience on residential or commercial projects preferred
• Able to work from ladders and extension ladders safely

--- YOUR PATH TO PAINTER 1 ---
Every Painter 1 on our crews started as an Apprentice. Here's what the path looks like:

• Apprentice 1 (starting pay $22/hr): learn surface prep — sanding, masking & taping, caulking, patching, site setup/clean-up, scraping — plus basic ladder safety.
• After about 3 months, pass a written knowledge test and a hands-on field assessment to move up to Apprentice 2 (pay increases to $23/hr): learn to cut in, brush, and roll; choose the right roller nap and paint/primer for the job; and set up and clean power washer/sprayer rigs.
• After about 9 more months (roughly a year total), pass a second knowledge and field assessment to become a Painter 1 (pay increases to $25/hr) — a skilled, independent painter with a real career ahead of them.

• Reliable transportation to Bay Area job sites
• Ability to perform physical work (lifting, climbing, kneeling)
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding
• Valid California driver's license preferred

• Un camino estructurado para convertirte en pintor completo en aproximadamente un año, con un aumento de pago y una evaluación práctica de habilidades en cada paso (ver "Tu Camino a Pintor 1" abajo)
• Ayudar con preparación de superficies, enmascarado, limpieza y aplicación básica
• Trabajar junto a pintores con experiencia en proyectos comerciales y multifamiliares
• Debe ser confiable, puntual y con deseo de aprender

PINTOR 1 | $24 – $27/hr

• 1–2 años de experiencia en pintura (o ascenso interno a través de nuestro programa de Aprendices)
• Capaz de realizar preparación, imprimación y aplicación básica de forma independiente
• Cómodo con brochas, rodillos y uso básico de pistola de pintura
• Se prefiere experiencia en proyectos residenciales o comerciales
• Capaz de trabajar en escaleras con seguridad

--- TU CAMINO A PINTOR 1 ---
Todos nuestros Pintores 1 comenzaron como Aprendices. Así es como se ve el camino:

• Aprendiz 1 (pago inicial $22/hr): aprende preparación de superficies — lijado, enmascarado y cinta adhesiva, calafateo, parcheo, instalación y limpieza del sitio, raspado — además de seguridad básica con escaleras.
• Después de aproximadamente 3 meses, aprueba un examen de conocimientos escrito y una evaluació
