Part-Time Automotive Parts Coordinator

AAMCO of Dover is looking for a part-time Automotive Parts Coordinator to support our repair shop.

The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, locate, order, receive, and manage the parts needed by our technicians to complete customer repairs efficiently and profitably.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify and source parts based on technician repair requirements
• Research parts using vehicle VIN and other vehicle information to ensure proper fit and application
• Obtain pricing and availability from multiple parts suppliers
• Order parts with consideration for price, quality, availability, and delivery time
• Track outstanding orders and follow up with vendors to prevent repair delays
• Receive deliveries and verify that parts received are correct
• Coordinate returns, cores, credits, warranties, and defective parts
• Maintain appropriate shop parts and supply inventory
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder commonly used items as needed
• Maintain accurate records of parts purchased, returned, and credited
• Work closely with technicians and the service department to keep repairs moving efficiently
• Help control parts costs and maintain appropriate parts margins

Qualifications:

• Automotive parts or repair industry experience strongly preferred
• Good general knowledge of automotive parts and repair
• Experience working with automotive parts suppliers and online parts catalogs
• Ability to accurately identify the correct parts for specific vehicles and repairs
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable working with computers and shop management systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with technicians and vendors
• Dependable and able to work independently

This is a part-time position and could be a good fit for someone with previous experience at an automotive repair shop, dealership parts department, auto parts supplier, or someone with strong automotive parts knowledge looking for part-time hours.
