Part-Time Field Operations Assistant
Field Operations Assistant
Description
NewPad Building Company is a licensed and insured homebuilder based in Fort Worth. We build 40–60 high-quality, affordable new homes a year — single-family homes, duplexes, and small subdivisions — in growing neighborhoods across North Texas, including Crowley, Northwest Fort Worth, and the Lake Arlington area. Our mission is simple: build more homes with better design, better finishes, and better service than our competition, at a price working families can afford.
The Role
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Field Operations Assistant to keep our finished homes show-ready and our homeowners taken care of. This is a part-time role (roughly 20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule, driving between our communities and infill lots around the Fort Worth area.
This is a great fit for a semi-retired construction professional — someone who knows their way around a jobsite, takes pride in doing things right, and wants meaningful, flexible work without the grind of full-time construction.
What You'll Do
Keep listed homes show-ready. Clean and tidy our completed spec homes — sweep, dust, wipe down surfaces, remove debris, and make sure every home shows at its best for buyers and realtors.
Install and maintain signage. Put up, move, and remove for-sale signs, directional signs, and marketing materials across our communities and scattered lots.
Handle warranty service calls. Visit homeowners to assess warranty claims, personally complete minor repairs (caulking, adjustments, hardware, paint touch-ups, door/window tuning), and coordinate with our subcontractors on larger items — then verify the work got done right.
Be our eyes in the field. Report issues you spot at our homes and communities so small problems never become big ones.
What We're Looking For
Residential construction experience — you understand how homes go together and can diagnose and fix common punch-list items
Comfortable working independently and managing your own route and schedule
Friendly, patient, and professional with homeowners — many are first-time buyers, and you'll be the face of NewPad after closing
Reliable truck or vehicle, valid driver's license, and your own basic hand tools
Able to lift 50 lbs and handle light physical work (signs, cleaning, minor repairs)
Organized — able to document warranty visits and completed work with simple photos and notes (we use Buildertrend; we'll train you)
Why You'll Like Working Here
Flexible part-time hours — roughly 20 hours per week, scheduled around your life
Competitive pay — $23–$28/hour depending on experience, plus mileage reimbursement
Meaningful work — every home you touch helps a family become a homeowner and lifts up a Fort Worth neighborhood
A team that has your back — we run on clear processes, respect, and positivity. No chaos, no guesswork.
How to Apply
Email a brief summary of your construction background (a formal resume is welcome but not required) to cconger@congergroup.com with the subject line "Field Operations Assistant." Tell us a little about your experience and what kind of schedule works for you.
