Part time Restoration Shop Assist – Woodworking/Refinishing – $20/hr

Manzi Appraisers & Restoration is seeking a dependable, hands-on Restoration Shop Assistant for our professional art, antique, and furniture restoration facility in Woburn.

Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Pay: $20 per hour
Position: Part-time

The ideal candidate has basic woodworking, furniture-repair, or refinishing experience. This position will assist our conservation and restoration team and support our facilities and transportation operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with basic woodworking, furniture repairs, sanding, staining, and refinishing
Assist with regluing, clamping, stabilizing, and preparing furniture for restoration
Support furniture, artwork, and other restoration projects as directed
Carefully pack, wrap, handle, load, and unload fine art, antiques, furniture, and other client property
Assist with pickups, deliveries, installations, and onsite projects
Organize tools, supplies, materials, work areas, and storage spaces
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe shop, including work areas, floors, grounds, and restrooms
Assist Manzi Marketplace and other company departments when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic woodworking, furniture-repair, or refinishing experience
Shop, restoration, moving, construction, art-handling, or facilities experience is helpful
Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to follow directions
Trustworthy and discreet when working with high-value property and inside private homes and businesses
Able to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds with team assistance
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Professional appearance and communication

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Because employees handle fine art, furniture, textiles, and other odor-sensitive property, employees must report to work free from cigarette, cigar, cannabis, vaping, and similar odors. Smoking and vaping are prohibited during working hours and on company property or in company vehicles.
Manzi maintains a drug-free workplace. Employees may not report to work impaired.
One earbud may be worn while working, provided the other ear remains unobstructed and the audio does not interfere with safety or communication. Earbuds are prohibited while driving and during other safety-sensitive activities.
Complete discretion and confidentiality regarding clients, private properties, collections, values, and company projects are required.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory references, a criminal background check, drug screening, and a motor-vehicle-record check, conducted in accordance with applicable law.
