Paving Superintendent

Rapid Services LLC Hayward, CA and Surrounding Areas Full-Time

Rapid Services LLC is seeking an experienced Paving Superintendent to lead field operations for asphalt paving projects throughout the Bay Area.

We are looking for a hands-on field leader with strong asphalt paving experience who can lead crews, coordinate equipment and materials, maintain production, and deliver quality paving work safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within project budgets.

Responsibilities

· Lead and oversee daily asphalt paving, milling, grading, compaction, and related paving operations.

· Plan and coordinate paving crews, equipment, trucking, materials, and daily production.

· Manage field activities in accordance with project schedules, budgets, plans, and specifications.

· Coordinate closely with Project Management and Dispatch on manpower, equipment, trucking, materials, and changing field conditions.

· Monitor productivity, labor hours, equipment utilization, and material usage.

· Ensure paving operations and completed work meet Company quality standards and project specifications.

· Enforce Company safety requirements, PPE requirements, traffic-control plans, and applicable OSHA/Cal-OSHA requirements.

· Ensure daily timekeeping, production records, and required field documentation are accurate and completed on time.

· Identify and resolve field issues that could affect safety, quality, production, schedule, or cost.

· Maintain clear communication with crews, Project Management, inspectors, customers, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of asphalt paving or heavy civil construction experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years of superintendent, foreman, or comparable field-leadership experience.
• Strong working knowledge of asphalt paving, milling, grading, compaction, and related paving operations.
• Working knowledge of pavers, rollers, screeds, milling equipment, and other paving equipment.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead crews and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• OSHA/Cal-OSHA and other relevant construction or safety certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with HeavyJob and MyField preferred.
• CDL is a plus.
