Description
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools or machines
- Fabricate and assemble pipe sections, fittings, and tubing according to specifications
- Install and maintain plumbing systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings
- Follow all relevant codes, standards, and regulations for pipefitting work
- Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges or other equipment
- Repair or replace damaged pipes, valves, fittings, or fixtures
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as electricians and HVAC technicians to ensure proper installation of plumbing systems
- Proven experience as a pipefitter
- Proficient in tube bending techniques and pipe fabrication methods
- Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards for plumbing systems
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools and power equipment used in pipefitting work
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
