MGR Workforce is hiring PLC Technicians for a leading electronics manufacturing client in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience working around automated manufacturing equipment who are looking to build their careers in a fast-paced production environment.
PLC Technicians are responsible for monitoring and supporting automated machinery and conveyor systems to ensure efficient production. This role focuses on operating and troubleshooting existing automated systems rather than programming PLCs from scratch. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with industrial automation equipment.
Job Requirement:
Basic spoken and written Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred because PLC Technicians may need to read and understand Mandarin-language operating procedures, equipment instructions, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) information, maintenance documentation, and safety materials required to perform essential job duties safely and efficiently. The position also utilizes routine communication regarding production activities and safety.
Responsibilities
- Monitor automated production machinery and conveyor systems to ensure continuous operation.
- Operate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to monitor equipment status and respond to machine alarms.
- Identify equipment faults and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize production downtime.
- Safely reset tripped sensors, replace damaged cables, and clear minor machine jams.
- Escalate complex equipment issues to the appropriate maintenance or engineering team.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report operational concerns.
- Follow production schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Read and follow technical work instructions, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Strictly adhere to Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) safety procedures when servicing or clearing automated equipment.
- Vocational or technical certification in automation, electronics, or a related field, or a minimum of 1 year of experience working with automated assembly machinery.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and navigate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to monitor machine status and respond to alarms.
- Basic knowledge of industrial input/output hardware, including sensors, cables, and automated equipment components.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and safely restore equipment to operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including strict adherence to Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Previous experience in electronics manufacturing is considered an asset.
