PLUMBER

Job Summary:

Assembles, installs and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems.

General Accountabilities:

• Knowledge and ability to read blueprints.
• Must be able to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating water and drainage systems.
• Inspect Structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure results from pipe installation.
• Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes.
• Cuts openings in walls and floors, as needed to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Cuts and threads pipe.
• Bends pipe to required angles.
• Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings and pipes.
• Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
• Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures.
• Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending pipes, and opening clogged drains.

Job Qualifications:
* Experience: 3 - 5 years

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to bend, lift or climb
• Occasionally required to lift moderated weights (25 - 50 pounds)
