Pool Technician Helper
Description
Royal Pool Service is looking for a dependable, hardworking Pool Helper to join our team.
This is a hands-on, year-round position working alongside experienced Pool Technicians and Crew Leaders. No previous pool experience is required, but candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, getting their hands dirty, learning new skills, and performing physically demanding work.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn the pool service and construction trade and develop their skills over time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Pool Helper's duties shall include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Pool Technicians and Crew Leaders with residential and commercial pool and spa openings and closings.
- Assist with weekly pool service and valet maintenance, including water testing, chemical handling, cleaning, and general pool maintenance.
- Help technicians inspect and maintain pool equipment and systems.
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, and other pool equipment.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work related to pool systems under the direction of experienced technicians.
- Assist with pool construction and renovation projects, including:
Rebar reinforcement
Surface preparation and BondKote applications
Coping and tile installation
Deck-O-Seal applications
Vermiculite applications
- Assist with vinyl liner replacements and pressure testing.
- Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, trailers, and job sites.
- Assist with vehicle, equipment, and general maintenance as needed.
- Follow instructions from the Lead Pool Technician and Crew Leader and work as part of a team.
- Learn proper pool service, equipment, construction, and safety procedures.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients.
- Assist with company projects, client service, and operational needs as assigned.
- Perform snow plowing and winter maintenance services when assigned.
- Snow plowing and winter maintenance assignments may require reporting outside of regular working hours due to weather-dependent operational requirements.
- During severe or extended snowstorms, temporary accommodation or lodging may be provided when necessary for employee safety and operational needs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- No previous pool experience required – we are willing to train the right person.
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and changing weather conditions.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, climbing, and working with tools and equipment.
- Able to follow directions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, plumbing, electrical, mechanical work, or other outdoor trades is a plus, but not required.
This is a year-round position. While pool work is busiest during the spring, summer, and fall, employees may be assigned snow removal and other winter maintenance work during the off-season.
This position provides an opportunity to learn the pool service and construction trade while working directly with experienced technicians and crew leaders. TOOLS:
Employees may be required to provide basic personal hand tools as they progress in the position. The Company will provide specialized equipment and tools necessary for assigned projects and operations.
COMPENSATION:
$18.00 per hour.
