Pressure Washer Equipment Mechanic / Technician

Location: Somers, CTJob Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (20 hrs/week initially, increasing to 30-35 hrs/week)Pay: $20/hour, increasing after probationary period based on experience.
ABOUT US
Gateway Enterprise Corp repairs and services pressure washer equipment for commercial and industrial clients throughout Connecticut, including utilities, waste management companies, and other professional operations. We're a small, hands-on business looking to add a skilled mechanic to our team.
THE ROLE
We're looking for someone with real mechanical experience — small engines, hydraulics, automotive, HVAC, or similar — who can pick up pressure washer equipment repair quickly. This isn't an entry-level "learn everything from scratch" position. We need someone who already knows their way around an engine, a pump, or a motor and just needs to learn our specific equipment.
What you'll do:
Diagnose and repair pressure washer pumps, engines, and components
Perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, fuel, and electrical issues
Keep accurate service records
Represent our company professionally with clients
SCHEDULE
First 30 days: 20 hours/week
After 30 days: Increasing up to 30-35 hours/week as workload grows
Monday–Friday, daytime hours
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
Real hands-on mechanical experience (small engines, automotive, HVAC, hydraulics, or similar)
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Able to diagnose mechanical problems systematically
Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license
Strongly Preferred:
Experience with small gas engines or pumps specifically
Trade school or technical training
Experience reading schematics/parts diagrams
Mid-level candidates with some mechanical background
