Printing Apprentice – Will Train / Experienced Offset Press Operator
Printing Apprentice / Offset Press Operator
Description
Location: Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi
Industry: Commercial Printing & Publishing
Job Type: Full-time – Day or night shifts available. Some weekend and overtime hours may also be available.
Experience: Experienced press operators and entry-level applicants are both encouraged to apply. If you have offset printing experience, we’d love to hear from you. If you don’t, but you’re dependable, mechanically inclined and interested in learning a hands-on trade, we’re willing to train the right person.
Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent
Benefits: Medical, dental and life insurance; paid sick leave and vacation; 12 paid holidays; SIMPLE IRA retirement plan; and free parking.
Trade Media Hui, a locally owned commercial printing and publishing company, is looking for an Offset Press Operator or Press Apprentice to join our production team.
Already an experienced press operator? We’d love to talk with you about your experience.
No printing experience? That’s okay, too. We’re willing to train the right person. You’ll work alongside an experienced press operator and receive hands-on training on 4- and 5-color sheetfed offset presses. It’s an opportunity to learn a specialized trade and develop skills you can build on for years to come.
You may be a great fit if you:
Are mechanically inclined and enjoy working with machines and equipment
Like working with your hands and figuring out how things work
Are dependable and show up on time
Have good attention to detail
Take pride in producing quality work
Are comfortable in a hands-on, physical work environment
Are willing to learn, take direction and eventually work independently
Work well as part of a production team
Experience in offset printing is a plus, but not required. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, mechanical, maintenance, construction or other equipment-related work can also be a good foundation for someone interested in learning the trade.
Training Schedule: For an apprentice, training will typically be Monday–Friday with a start time around 6:30 a.m., although we may have some flexibility for the right person. Day or night shifts may be available depending on experience and our production schedule.
Trade Media Hui has been part of Hawaiʻi’s printing and publishing industry for more than 70 years. You’ll be joining a local company with a stable work environment, good benefits and a team that values quality work. Our presses produce magazines, publications and other commercial printing for businesses and organizations throughout Hawaiʻi. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how these projects go from paper and ink to the finished product.
Whether you’re an experienced press operator looking for a new opportunity or someone interested in learning the trade from the ground up, we’d like to hear from you.
