Awalix, LLC is a full-service General Contractor that specializes in and heavy civil construction, in-water work, and providing a wide range of construction services to government / private customers.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our construction team. The estimator will be responsible for reviewing sources sought documents, project plans / specifications and discuss best method approaches with our construction team to develop an estimating plan. Site visits to gather photos and or drone footage of sites may be necessary from time to time. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractors and vendors for competitive pricing, and prepare comprehensive cost estimates to be reviewed and discussed prior to submittal. Responsible for data downloads with project managers and superintendents to aid in their management of field crews, equipment utilization and subcontractor engagement. Be able to aid when needed for change of condition discussions, modifications, and additions to work scope that would require pricing. Proficient in both verbal and written communication, ability to submit RFI's for clarification of contract requirements, additional details needed for estimating, and offer solution based responses. Professionalism practiced in both dealing with clients and all construction team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall review of sources sought / solicitation documents, contract plans and specifications.
• Project job site visits performed to collect information, photos, and/or drone footage for construction details.
• Ensure that appropriate subcontractors / vendors are selected for competitive pricing of contract plans and specifications.

Identify potential conflicts or problems prior to estimate submittal.

• Responsible for preparing an estimated schedule for each scope of the project.-Recommend value engineering and other contract adjustments, to increase overall quality, efficiency and value.
• Identify potential schedule delays / conflicts. Plan and offer alternative actions.
• Examine subcontractor estimates, material delivery schedules and qualify for any discrepancies.
