Project Manager / Designer (Design-Build Residential Construction)

Mark Huff Construction is a well-established residential remodeling company specializing in high-quality renovations throughout San Francisco. As our business continues to grow, we're expanding our team and looking for a talented Project Manager with a passion for design and residential construction.

About the Role

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, has an eye for design, and wants to see projects come to life. Many of our projects are smaller residential remodels that don't involve an architect or interior designer, giving you the opportunity to help homeowners make design decisions while managing the construction process.

You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and our field team to ensure projects stay organized, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities

Manage residential remodeling projects from planning through completion.
Meet with clients to understand their goals and help guide design decisions.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and material selections.
Prepare estimates, budgets, schedules, and change orders.
Conduct site visits and oversee project quality and progress.
Communicate regularly with clients regarding schedules, selections, and project updates.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers when applicable.
Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and client satisfaction.
Assist with business development and cultivate client relationships.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone with a combination of the following:

Background in interior design, architecture, residential design, or construction management.
Experience managing residential remodeling projects is preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience reading construction drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of residential construction methods and materials.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software (JobTread experience is a plus).
A positive, proactive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
Valid California driver's license.
