Project Manager/Lead Carpenter

Description

Integrity Construction RVA is seeking to add a Project Manager/Lead Carpenter to our staff. As a lead carpenter, you will act as on-site manager for projects and will work alone or in groups. We are a small but growing class A residential contractor with a focus on remodeling from whole houses to kitchens and bathrooms as well as additions. Most of our work is within the City of Richmond on its many historic houses (1800s to mid-1900s).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, effective communication and follow-through of tasks
  • Able to shift between multiple projects as-needed
  • Able to read and follow project plan documents
  • Perform demo and carpentry tasks, to include framing, doors, windows, cabinet installation and interior and exterior trim
  • Perform ongoing quality checks, make corrections and instruct subcontractors to make corrections as necessary
  • Able to complete projects within budget and timeframes
  • Coordinate and supervise all labor at the jobsite including subcontractors
  • Perform material takeoffs and orders
  • On a daily basis, document progress of the project, including any customer concerns, problems, delays, etc. using project management software
  • Communicate daily with the clients to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Able to effectively resolve issues as they arise
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines and health and safety requirements
Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years carpentry experience, including framing and trim
  • Old house knowledge (late 1800s up to 1930s/40s)—know construction techniques of those eras and be able to work with existing conditions
  • Renovation and restoration carpentry knowledge
  • Attention to detail and high level of finish quality while completing tasks within deadlines
  • Willing and able to interact and build relationships with diverse clientele and coworkers
  • Must have tools and transportation (work truck/van preferred)
  • Able to read/follow engineer/architects’ plans
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Flexibility
  • Building code knowledge
