About the Role

The Regional Maintenance Support Specialist supports multiple communities within the San Diego, CA region by providing advanced technical expertise, hands-on repair capability, and on-request supervisory support. This role ensures high-quality maintenance operations, strengthens team performance through training and leadership, and contributes to capital project success across the region.

This role involves regular on-site visits to properties across San Diego County, so candidates should live within the region. To support travel, a monthly auto allowance is provided.

What You'll Do

Below is a snapshot of what this role is all about. While there is more to it, this is the core focus.

Team Leadership & Development

Mentor and cross-train maintenance associates at assigned communities.
Provide on-request supervision, coaching, and hiring support.
Promote and support participation in Fairfield training programs.

Maintenance Operations & Repairs

Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more.
Complete preventive maintenance and common-area upkeep.
Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies when needed.

Project & Vendor Support

Oversee on-site capex projects and vendor work quality.
Assist with bidding, scope development, and procurement.
Track project timelines to meet required milestones.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure adherence to Fairfield policies, OSHA standards, and hazardous materials requirements.
Conduct routine inspections of building systems and safety equipment.

Resident & Community Support

Support make-ready schedules, move-ins, and move-outs upon request.
Maintain communication with onsite and regional teams across multiple communities.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • EPA Certification, Type II or universal required

  • CPO Certification (Pool) required

  • CAMT Certification preferred

  • Valid drivers license required

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on residential building maintenance experience

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Multifamily / Apartment maintenance experience required

  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management software
