Residential Remodeling Technician
We are seeking an experienced, dependable Residential Remodeling Technician to perform a variety of residential construction, repair, and improvement work, with a particular emphasis on electrical work, carpentry, and drywall.
This position is well suited for someone with broad residential construction experience who is comfortable working independently, solving problems in the field, and completing projects from demolition through finished installation.
Primary Responsibilities
Electrical
Residential electrical installation, repair, and troubleshooting.
Install and replace lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, receptacles, and related electrical equipment.
Install recessed lighting and specialty lighting systems.
Perform electrical work associated with kitchen, bathroom, and general residential remodeling.
Coordinate electrical work with framing, drywall, cabinetry, and finish work.
Follow applicable electrical codes and established company procedures.
Carpentry
Perform rough and finish carpentry for residential remodeling projects
Installation of crown molding
Install doors, trim, baseboard, molding, shelving, and miscellaneous finish materials.
Light framing as necessary for electrical, lighting, cabinetry, and remodeling installations.
Install blocking and backing for cabinets, fixtures, televisions, mirrors, lighting, and other equipment.
Perform minor cabinet installation and modification.
Make accurate measurements, cuts, and field adjustments.
Drywall
Install and repair residential drywall.
Patch openings resulting from electrical and remodeling work.
Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall repairs.
Match existing wall and ceiling surfaces as closely as practical.
Prepare repaired surfaces for texture and paint.
Perform clean, professional drywall repairs
General Remodeling
Demolition and preparation for residential remodeling projects.
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling.
Lighting and electrical upgrades.
Cabinet and fixture installation.
Minor plumbing-related construction work where appropriate.
Wall and ceiling repairs.
Finish work and punch-list repairs.
Protect customers' homes, furniture, flooring, and surrounding finishes while working.
Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite.
Load, unload, transport, and organize tools and materials.
Identify field conditions that may affect the scope, cost, or schedule of a project.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years of hands-on residential construction or remodeling experience.
Some electrical skills and a practical understanding of residential electrical systems.
Carpentry skills.
Experience installing and repairing drywall.
Ability to accurately measure, layout, cut, assemble, and install construction materials.
Familiarity with common residential construction methods and materials.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop practical field solutions.
Ability to work independently after receiving the project scope and instructions.
Good communication skills when interacting with homeowners, contractors, and other trades.
Attention to detail and pride in finished workmanship.
Ability to maintain an organized and professional jobsite.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Tools and Field Skills
Candidates should be comfortable using common residential construction tools, including:
Cordless drills and impact drivers
Circular, reciprocating, miter, and oscillating saws
Electrical testing equipment
Fish tapes and wire-pulling tools
Drywall tools
Levels and laser levels
Nailers and fastening equipment
Ladders and basic access equipment
Hand tools used for electrical, carpentry, and finish work

Electrical experience is preferred, but a successful candidate can learn electrical skills from coworkers.
