Position: Residential and Commercial Field Superintendent – Structural Masonry and Concrete

Father and Son Masonry is a growing, family-run business seeking a Residential and Commercial Field Superintendent for Structural Masonry and Concrete who can make an immediate impact and thrive within our dynamic, hardworking, and adaptable team.
About This Role:
This Superintendent position is a hands-on field leadership role. We’re looking for someone who is confident in the field, enjoys solving problems as they come up, and takes pride in leading jobs to successful completion.
Extensive hands-on experience in both concrete and masonry is required. The right candidate has real-world experience working with and leading masonry and concrete crews and understands job sequencing, production flow, and field conditions.
Our ideal superintendent is observant, decisive, and communicates clearly with crews. This role requires someone who can adapt to changing jobsite conditions, help guide crews through challenges, and keep projects moving forward without unnecessary delays.
You’ll be leading skilled masons and concrete finishers through clear direction, mutual respect, and strong teamwork. We’re looking for a true field leader who takes ownership, supports their crews, and helps set the tone for successful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
-Crew Supervision:
*Assist with overseeing project activities and supervising field personnel and subcontractors at jobsite
-Scheduling and Planning:
*Develop and implement project schedules, prioritize critical tasks, coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to ensure work progresses on time and meets deadlines.
*Utilize project management software Knowify to track project milestones and documentation.
-Quality Control:
*Oversee the work to ensure it aligns with blueprints, technical drawings, project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
-Safety Management:
*Promote and enforce safe construction practices on-site
*Conduct safety training and inspections, identify and mitigate potential hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
-Materials and Equipment:
*Manage and schedule deliveries of materials and equipment, monitor on-site inventory, and ensure proper storage.
-Budget and Cost Control:
*Track project costs, monitor expenses, and strive to minimize costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
-Communication and Coordination:
*Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers.
*Maintain job progress tracking and ensure timely reporting from the field
*Attend and represent Father and Son Masonry in site meetings and visits
-Problem-Solving:
*Proactively identify potential issues, resolve conflicts, troubleshoot problems that arise on-site, and make sound decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
-Minimum 10 years of verifiable masonry & concrete experience, both hands-on and in a superintendent role
-Master blueprint reader. Able to read and understand plans, building codes and survey stakes
-Experience speaking with city/special inspectors, clients and Foreman
-OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
-Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
-Knowledge of PC and of construction and business software, including scheduling, estimating, spreadsheets and word processing.
-Strong work ethic and a team-player mentality
-A fast learner who can quickly adapt to changing priorities
-Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
-Willingness to step in wherever needed to keep projects running smoothly
-Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-Must have the ability to operate an automobile, have a valid state driver’s license
-Must be able to pull a trailer
