Residential Glass Installer
Depending on the experience
Shower Door Mechanic / Glass & Window Installer
Description
Job Summary
We are replacing a long-tenured crew member who is retiring after 30 years with us. You will join an experienced residential installation crew, working alongside your teammates on daily service runs and scheduled installation jobs across the Northern Virginia area. If you take pride in clean, precise work and enjoy being on the move, this is a solid, stable position with a company that keeps its people long-term.
What You'll Do
- Install mirrors, replacement glass, shower doors, and specialty glass in residential settings.
- Run city service routes — respond to residential service calls, assess glass needs on-site, and complete repairs or replacements efficiently.
- Work as part of a two-person or small crew on all jobs — no solo calls.
- Handle glass safely: cutting, measuring, fitting, sealing, and securing all types of residential glass.
- Represent Del Ray Glass professionally in customers’ homes — clean workspace, courteous service, no exceptions.
- Load and unload glass and materials; maintain the service vehicle and tools.
- Communicate clearly with crew leads on job status, material needs, and any site issues.
Required:
- Experience installing residential glass — mirrors, window glass, shower enclosures, or similar. We will train the right person on specifics, but you should know how glass works.
- Comfortable working in occupied homes — professional appearance and customer-facing manner.
- Ability to safely handle, cut, and carry glass of varying sizes and weights.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record (you will drive a company vehicle).
- Able to meet physical requirements: lifting up to 75 lbs, working at heights, kneeling, bending, reaching.
- Experience with shower door hardware and frameless enclosures.
- Familiarity with city/municipal service work or high-volume residential service routes.
- Any glazier apprenticeship or trade school training.
- Punctual, reliable, and ready to work at the start of every shift — our service routes run on a schedule.
- Clean, professional appearance on job sites and in customers’ homes at all times.
- Easy-going, coachable mindset — you will be working closely with experienced crew members every day.
- Company is a drug-free environment; pre-employment screening required.
- $25–$30/hr based on experience.
- Stable, year-round work — this is not seasonal.
