Northern Virginia (Manassas, VA & Surrounding Areas)

Compensation: Average earnings equivalent to $32–$42+/hour for experienced installers. Paid per completed installation.

Partner With a Growing HVAC Company

Professor Heating & Air is seeking experienced Residential HVAC Installers to partner with us as 1099 Independent Contractors. We're looking for skilled professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and completing installations the right way.

We provide a consistent pipeline of installation opportunities throughout Northern Virginia while allowing you to maintain the flexibility of operating your own business.

Responsibilities

Install residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, indoor coils, and thermostats.
Replace existing equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
Perform equipment start-up, commissioning, and operational testing.
Maintain a clean and professional job site.
Communicate professionally with homeowners and company staff.
Complete installation documentation and photos upon job completion.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
EPA Universal Certification required.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Own professional HVAC installation tools.
Ability to safely lift 75+ lbs. and work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Experience
Heat pumps and dual-fuel systems
Duct modifications and sheet metal fabrication
Mini-split installations
Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, or equivalent equipment

Independent Contractor Requirements

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Contractors are responsible for:

Maintaining required licenses and certifications.

Providing their own tools, transportation, and insurance.
Paying applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
Operating as an independent business in compliance with Virginia and federal law.
