About the Opportunity
Benoure Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Residential Plumber and HVAC Installer to join its team in South Burlington, Vermont.
This is a hands-on field position focused primarily on residential plumbing and HVAC installation for new construction, renovation, and custom-home projects. The role is well suited to an experienced tradesperson who can work independently, coordinate effectively with project teams and other trades, and take ownership of quality installations from layout through completion.

What You'll Be Doing
- Install plumbing systems for residential new construction, renovations, and custom homes.
- Install and connect piping, fixtures, faucets, toilets, tubs, showers, water heaters, and related equipment.
- Install and service gas piping and gas-fired equipment when properly licensed or certified.
- Assist with HVAC and mechanical system installation, including piping, equipment, and related components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, plans, and mechanical layouts.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping and related systems accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, contractors, customers, and other trades.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and recommend practical field solutions.
- Identify material, equipment, and jobsite needs and communicate them to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow applicable codes, jobsite requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standards.
- Provide guidance to apprentices and less-experienced team members when appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately four or more years of relevant plumbing and/or HVAC installation experience is preferred.
- Strong third-year or experienced apprentices may also be considered if they demonstrate the technical ability and readiness to succeed in the role.
- Master Plumber-level candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of residential plumbing installation, piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- HVAC installation experience or strong mechanical aptitude related to residential HVAC systems.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project teams and other trades.
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
- Ability to travel to jobsites throughout the service area.
Compensation
$30.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience, licensing, and the level of responsibility the candidate is prepared to assume.
Schedule
This is a full-time, hourly position that typically follows an eight-hour workday.
Start times vary by project. Some crews begin around 5:30 a.m., while others may start at 6:00 or 7:00 a.m.
Depending on the assignment, employees may begin their day at the South Burlington shop or report directly to the jobsite.
Travel and Project Area
Most projects are located within approximately one hour, or roughly 50-60 miles, of the South Burlington shop.
Residential development projects are often closer to South Burlington, while custom-home work may extend into communities such as Stowe or Warren.
Additional Considerations
- A company vehicle may be available for an experienced candidate operating at the foreman level and independently running work.
- Relocation assistance may be negotiable for an exceptionally strong candidate.
- Candidates do not need to match every preferred qualification perfectly to be considered.
