Description
AERO Construction & Consultants, LLC is seeking an experienced Rough Carpenter to join our growing team. The Rough Carpenter is responsible for constructing the structural framework of residential and commercial buildings, including concrete formwork, wood framing, roof systems, walls, floors, and other structural components. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of quality craftsmanship.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Perform layout for walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, windows, and structural components.
- Construct wood framing, floor systems, roof systems, and structural walls.
- Build, install, and strip concrete formwork for footings, grade beams, columns, walls, and slabs.
- Install beams, headers, lintels, joists, rafters, trusses, sheathing, and blocking.
- Install anchor bolts, hold-downs, embeds, and structural hardware.
- Measure, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, steel studs, and other framing materials.
- Ensure all work is level, plumb, square, and built according to plans and specifications.
- Assist with concrete pours and finishing preparation.
- Install temporary bracing, safety barriers, and jobsite protection.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lasers, and layout equipment.
- Coordinate work with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
- Perform additional carpentry and construction duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years of rough carpentry experience preferred.
- Experience with residential and commercial construction.
- Experience with wood framing and cast-in-place concrete formwork.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of framing methods, layout, and structural construction.
- Familiarity with the Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade construction practices is preferred.
- Ability to accurately measure, calculate, and perform layout work.
- Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide employment eligibility documentation as required by federal law.
- Employer does not sponsor employment visas.
- Must have reliable transportation to various job sites.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to safely work on scaffolding, ladders, roofs, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
