Description
We are seeking a Scaffold Builder / Skilled Laborer to join our team.
In this vital role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and dismantling scaffolding structures that ensure safe access for various construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction safety standards, technical blueprint reading skills, and experience working with a variety of tools and materials. The Scaffold Builder / Skilled Laborer position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects while maintaining a focus on safety, precision, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding structures according to project specifications and safety regulations
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine scaffold layout and requirements
Inspect scaffolding components regularly for stability, damage, or wear; perform necessary repairs or adjustments
Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate the safe movement of materials and personnel on scaffolding
Utilize hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation skills, and fabrication techniques as needed
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times
Maintain detailed records of scaffold inspections, modifications, and work performed
Assist in the training of new team members on scaffold assembly procedures and safety protocols
Requirements:
Proven experience in scaffold building within commercial or industrial construction environments
Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction management principles
Strong knowledge of construction estimating, inspection procedures, and safety regulations
Familiarity with a broad range of construction skills including plumbing, electrical work, masonry, roofing, carpentry (including trim carpentry), concrete forming, plastering, welding, tile laying, flooring installation, glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, restoration work, hardscape development, caulking, stucco application, framing carpentry, concrete finishing, masonry techniques, remodeling processes
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively; experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus
Excellent physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights safely
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively across teams
Valid certifications in OSHA safety standards preferred
Pay rate: $22 to $30 an hour, based on experience and interview.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 5 pm.
