Job - Scenic Carpenters for Event Production Company

Location – Union City, NJ

We are seeking experienced carpenters for in-shop scenic carpentry work and on-site event installations. Our company focuses on special event fabrication and scenic installation for corporate events.
We are looking to fill full-time, part-time and contract positions. The hours will vary based on the needs of each event.
Our shop is in Union City, NJ and the installations will take place throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
Open availability and flexibility are highly preferred. Must be open to work nights, or weekends

IDEAL CANDIDATES MUST:

• Be able to interpret and work from technical drawings
• Have experience with woodworking, construction, and fabrication
• Have experience with painting, sanding, and finishing scenic pieces
• Be able to work in high pressure installation situations
• Maintain quality standards during the installation process
• Troubleshoot installation issues with Management

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be experienced with hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery
• Duties include but are not limited to measuring, cutting/use of power tools, jobsite setup/clean-up, manual labor
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to follow directions, plans, blueprints, and sketches.
• Must be able to accommodate flexible schedule. Work at night or on the weekend is possible.
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong professional communication skills
• Must detail orientated and be able to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and experience driving 26 foot trucks is a plus

EXPERIENCE
2-5 years of carpentry experience
Event or activation installation experience a plus
