Description
We are a Brooklyn-based design and fabrication studio producing experiential installations, pop-ups, retail displays, events, trade shows, branded environments, and custom scenic builds.
SCENIC FABRICATORS
We are looking for fabricators with professional experience in scenic fabrication, exhibits, events, retail displays, or similar production environments.
Ideal experience includes:
-Scenic carpentry and custom fabrication
-Building flats, platforms, counters, displays, dimensional elements, and custom structures
-Working with plywood, MDF, laminates, plastics, acrylic, and other sheet goods
-Reading drawings and working accurately from dimensions
-Finish carpentry and laminating
-Basic hardware knowledge
-CNC familiarity is a plus
-Metalworking/welding experience is a plus
-On-site installation and strike experience
You should be comfortable working independently, solving problems, and producing clean work on deadline.
SCENIC FINISHERS
We are also looking for experienced scenic painters and finishers.
Relevant skills include:
-Professional scenic painting
-Spray finishing
-Rolling and brushing
-HVLP experience
-Filling, sanding, priming, and surface preparation
-Faux finishes and specialty textures
-Matching colors and samples
-Preparing various substrates for surface finish
-Maintaining a clean and organized finishing area
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Professional scenic, exhibit, event, retail fabrication, or production-shop experience is strongly preferred.
This is not a general construction position. We are specifically looking for people who understand the quality standards, pace, and deadlines associated with scenic fabrication and experiential production.
Candidates should be:
Reliable and punctual
Detail-oriented
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Able to work independently as well as part of a crew
Comfortable with occasional evenings/weekends when dictated by project schedules
Able to travel locally for installations when required
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Driver's license is a plus.
SCHEDULE / COMPENSATION
Freelance / project-based work with the potential for consistent hours for the right people.
Compensation: depending on skill level and experience.
