School Bus Mechanic $25- $30

Express Employment is looking for a School Bus Mechanic in Yonkers, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing school buses and small passenger buses to ensure safe and reliable transportation. This position requires strong mechanical experience as well as the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on school buses and small buses.
Ensure vehicles meet all safety and DOT requirements.

Mechanical Repairs:

Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines.

Service brake systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and HVAC systems.
Perform emergency and breakdown repairs as needed.

Electrical & Electronic Systems:

Troubleshoot and repair vehicle wiring and electrical systems.
Maintain and repair lighting systems, gauges, dashboard electronics, cameras, GPS equipment, and wheelchair lifts.
Diagnose electronic faults using appropriate testing equipment.

Safety & Compliance:

Conduct pre-trip and post-repair inspections.

Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.

Problem Solving:

Identify mechanical and electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
Recommend solutions to reduce downtime and improve vehicle reliability.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Bus Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, or Automotive Mechanic.
Knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle maintenance.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems.
Experience working on school buses, shuttle buses, or commercial fleets preferred.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
