Seamstress/Seamster Needed in Upholstery Shop

We are looking for an experienced sewer to assist with custom upholstery and sewing projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality cushion covers, furniture parts, and similar fabrications using upholstery-grade materials.

This position will involve a paid working interview to evaluate skills and fit.

Responsibilities

• Sew cushion covers (boxed, zipper, welted)
• Construct slipcovers and simple upholstered components
• Work with upholstery fabrics, vinyl, and other heavy materials
• Measure, cut, and assemble pieces accurately
• Install zippers, welting, and other finishing details
• Maintain clean, consistent stitching and professional-quality results
• Collaborate on custom projects and follow job specifications

Qualifications

• Experience sewing (upholstery, drapery, or similar heavy materials preferred)
• Ability to sew straight, consistent seams and clean corners
• Familiarity with zippers, boxing, and welt cord construction
• Comfortable using industrial sewing machines
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve

Working Interview

Candidates will be invited to complete a short paid working interview (2–4 hours).
This allows both you and our team to evaluate fit and workmanship in our shop setting.
